DescriptionThe latest release from Get Up Recordings is a project collaboration between NYC's The Carry Nation and London's The Cucarachas, culminating into a tribal punch called "Warriors". There are two original versions in this package, a US and UK version. While both are beat-driven, the US Mix is packed with heavy percussion, while the UK Mix is more stripped down and minimal. The Carry Nation is a NYC-based production team comprised of DJ Nita and DJ Will Automagic. Both noted producers and DJs on their own, their collaboration brings to life a unique sound that is both rooted in New York house history and reflective of the new burgeoning NYC underground sound. The Cucarachas, Latin for cockroaches, are DJ/producer team Tom Stephan and Borja Pena, a collaboration that was born in 2012 after the success of their underground party, DISH, in East London. They have been producing tracks, remixes and edits that encapsulate the sound of the night: dirty basslines, Chicago House elements and an unmistakable dark groove. The first three remixes come from master producer, Tedd Patterson. He is at the top of his game here giving us an old-school Wild Pitch style remix for both the Dance Main and Dub Mix. He also includes a Battle Beats version for DJs to create their own warrior dance. The next remix is from NYC's Fatherhood, a collaboration between DJ Michael Magnan and Daniel Fisher (a.k.a., Physical Therapy). Their take on Warriors is a transformation from the dancefloor to a lush electronic soundscape. The final remix comes from newcomers, DONKEY (NYC's Josh Sparber and Mikey Fuentes). Their hard-hitting remix is reminiscent of the 90's industrial minimal sound, while keeping it fresh for the future dancefloor.
