DescriptionIn between Chasing the Night and his next glass of Gruner Veltliner, Christian has been dreaming of fresh Belon oysters and giving us something a little different. A seachange and an afterparty all in one. Considering his last ep on Haul Music was played by everyone from Carl Cox to Carl Craig it's little wonder. Wanna Give Ya is eloquent and informal. It may very well be the kind of ep you take to the club and finish waking up next to in a different country - he likes it that way - and we here at Haul let him take it that way: oysters, fine white wine and all the post disco behaviour that may follow. The original song takes us into his world charged with organic atmosphere and trademark groove - echoes of the song title steering the boat. (We always love using modes of transport as analogies here at the label). Music for when the sun wakes up and blows some magic fairy dust onto the dancefloor.
The "B side" mix is a deeper, broken, elevating cut that realises it's 80s midwest influence halfway through and bounces out into a warm House vibe. A complete journey in itself. The ep then truly lives up to its name in the last two remixes. A collaboration of two Haul artists sees the first of these, the Jay Vincent Jr. respray, dive off the continental shelf for a dubstep remix of whale proportions. The charged atmosphere becomes electrified and is pinned down by sub tones deeper than any oyster we could possibly find. A unique take. Gutsy and emotional. The second, another debut here at the label, is the virgin remix offering of music producer and DJ, Claire Morgan. With a sassy bassline from the other side of the Pacific and a beautiful, airy and light spin on things, it's wonderful news that she's moved within coo-ee of the label in Melbourne. After honing her skills in Sydney the past few years on the club circuit she's made the move south to coincide with the release. Nice timing. We hope you enjoy our latest release. Maybe pour yourself a little glass when you have a listen.
