The second Leftd release continues its mantra of harbouring new talent by introducing four new artists to the Leftroom fold. Counting a consummate industry pro, as well as a classically trained musician amongst its contributors, this package is in no way short of ideas. All four cuts team with them but are united under the force and dynamism with which they collectively attack the senses.

Waifs & Strays 3 In The Morning is a purposeful, classic piece of driving, heads down house dictated by a sighing vocal that both sets the pace and works to lift disparate elements from the mix. The result is a heady hypnotic cut, revolving seductively to reveal an arsenal of tricks and twists. Figuring most potently of these is the devastatingly expansive female vocal that hangs above the track, looming large but never dominating proceedings. This cut demands club play and marks the cards for Waifs & Strays.

One half of No Regular Play and son of a classical composer, Greg Paulus unveils an imposing piece of marching, other worldly funk. A disjointed, chaotic stab at the outer limits, it is a mischievous concoction of burbling sirens, chattering percussion and ascending trajectories of tortured synths.

John Johr unleashes clattering, hollow drums while taking the low frequencies down to the next level. Snipped vocals intersect an elastic bass line and rising swathes of melody for maximum dance floor pile up. A short and intense burst of powerful stomping action, Baby has an ethereal quality that marks it out for potential secret weapon status.

Jacksonville rounds the package off with a light and airy organ sampling cut that casts off house musics tracky mantles and becomes a soaring piece of bubbling poppy goodness. Wrapped in chimes and a whispered vocal the tracks ascending bass line drives home a feel good factor that will wipe an unapologetic grin all over your face.
