DescriptionIoan Gamboa's journey to widely respected exponent of modern progressive house has been hugely impressive over 2011 and 2012. Allowing his more "melodic roots" to take hold, and based in the European EDM hotbed of Berlin, Ioan Gamboa's work has been signed to the genre's finest imprints, including, Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Cid Inc's 'Replug' and Igor Cold's 'Somebody's Story'. Furthermore, the popularity of Ioan's fantasy inspired, "Fire and Ice" EP for Particles in the late summer, sees it receive the full remix treatment for the label later in the year.
Now as 2013 opens it doors, Particles is delighted to announce Ioan Gamboa's, "The World Outside", originally released as part of the "Spring Particles" compilation in April 2012. With its underlying echoes of Underworld, complete with driving, pulsing rhythms and brim full of hypnotic vibrancy, two brand new remixes from Ukraine and Serbia now star alongside Gamboa's original.
Sviatoslav Tvardovsky's rise through 2012 has been nothing short of stratospheric. With over 70 production credits to his name throughout the course of the year, Tvardovsky's prolificacy has still seen him maintain the highest quality in his work. This quality is further evidenced by the output from his own 'Stereo Paradise' label - part of the Proton family - and his frequent work for Particles. Remixing "The World Outside", the similarly dark edge from Ioan's original pervades the track, while an air of melancholy and exquisite rhythm are maintained as momentum gradually builds. Before long, we are treated to a liberal sprinkling of Tvardovsky's own trademark rippling arpeggios that add a sublime touch to his creation and further serve to heighten the intensity and drama.
With almost a staggering 150 Beatport production credits to his name, Serbia's Marijan Raskovic, producing under the pseudonym, 'Jelly For The Babies', has been a one-man EDM machine in 2012. With an acute ear for deep rhythms and self-confessed "melodic sounds", Marijan has proved a master of his craft, forging great relations with Balkan Connection. This burgeoning relationship has led to a Top 100 Beatport Progressive best seller for his track "Johannesburg" and a remix of the track "Weirdo" for progressive legend, Lank. Turning his attention to Ioan Gamboa, Marijan's, 'Jelly For The Babies' remix provides an interpretation that bristles with brooding bass groove and hypnotic rhythm. When combined with a rising filtered effect that would perfectly herald the arrival of Dr Who's Tardis, and a breakdown full of emotion and beautiful melody, these elements exquisitely contrast their adjacent hypnotic grooves on either side.
Two superlative remixes and a rocket-fuelled original from Ioan Gamboa prove that "The World Outside" is an intriguing place to be.
