  • Description Born on the island of Corfu, Greek DJ and producer George Vasilas returns to the Green Martian for another run of quality progressive house sounds. George started early in music having taken up the drums in a local band when he was just 7 years of age. When he was 14 he started to experiment with DJing and during this time he realised that music, no matter what form, was the thing for him. He enjoyed much success on the Greek club scene and expanded into Europe playing alongside world class DJ's. In 1995 he began producing and the quality is still pouring from his studio to this day. George has an impressive back catalogue on various labels including Bonzai, New Era Recordings, Nighttrain Music, System Recordings and Ambiosphere Recordings. Today we have "The Fight Within Us", a solid prog houser EP. "I Fight For You" kicks us off with a super bassline and drum arrangement, great FX on the guitar give that deeper prog feeling. This tune builds and builds with an amazing melody coming through later on. A deep rasping spoken vocal comes through adding a new texture."This Town" takes a slightly different approach with a more minimal sound with plenty of juice to keep rocking. Heavy synth sounds play a big part and you will feel the full effect of these on the break, again with the raspy vocal give a sinister turn yet holds the track up very well, super stuff!Next up is "Sick Of Dummies", focusing on the bassline building up to a driving rhythm this tune really stands out as unique, brilliant arrangement of the different elements keep the groove going. A common theme emerges in the even more sinister spoken vocal on this one and will for sure keep you hooked!Dark prog surrounds the next tune "What You Need" along with a female vocal that gets the hairs on your neck rising, super deep vibe and melancholic synths create a tense atmosphere yet can also appear uplifting. Truly amazing work on this as it can evoke different emotions.
