DescriptionThe 20th release on Assembly Records comes courtesy of Holland-based producer De Sluwe Vos. The EP consists of three solid house tracks including a remix from rising Belfastian talent Cromby.
Title track 'Tales From The Hood' is the toughest of the bunch, a heavyweight tech houser by means of speaker-bruising bass, steppy snares soaked in a venomous vocal. Drop this and watch the wheels fall off!
Cromby's retro remix is equally impressive giving a heartfelt nod towards early Chicago dance floors. Low slung bass and stripped back percussion has become synonymous with the Cromby moniker. His take perfectly joins the dots between both originals works.
To round things off, Deventer, is a somewhat more laid back affair. Lazy, summertime vibes surround this track - the ever-present piano hook evolves and mingles amongst the jazz-infused drums.
With massive crossover appeal, Tales From The Hood should appeal to both Dj and dance floor alike
