  • Description Joel Mull's superb Sensory LP, released on Truesoul in February 2011, has been given the remix treatment by a host of talent and will be released early-November on the Swedish imprint.

Featuring remixes from Dustin Zahn, Martinez, Steve Rachmad & Heiko Laux, Agaric and Aril Brikha, Sensory Remixes is an essential addition to the original album which saw the highly regarded producer explore the more melodic side of his musical output.

Dustin Zahn's interpretation of Krauthaus makes for a no-nonsense opener to the five track extended player with the Enemy Records boss using layered and reverbed kicks to create a pounding, austere backbone to a skeletal rumbler littered with nagging vox.

Moon Harbour's Martinez completely switches things up with a chirpy, swinging rework of Sunday 2 Sunday. Its percussive energy and infectious groove subsides just once to let the original track's melodies drop during the break and the result is powerful to say the least.

Midway we're treated to an epic rework of Sensory's main single, Holographic by Steve Rachmad & Heiko Laux. Dense, melodic and with a fair amount of grunt, it's a remix that is as restrained as it is big.

Fresh from his celebrated album on Ovum, Agaric turns in one of his finest remixes yet with his Bass Jam Edit of Novelty Theory. Overlapping melodies, sliding synths and sleepy understatement makes for wonderful and addictive listening.

Aril Brikha's overtly disco rub of Sensory closes the package and does so in surprising style. Offbeat keys and Italo drums may not be the first things you think of when you think of Brikha but his remix oozes class and fun - a rare combination.

An incredibly interesting remix package all in all, Joel Mull's Sensory Remixes is released early-November on Truesoul.
