DescriptionIn January 2011, Fort Knox Recordings released the debut album by DCs own Empresarios, entitled Sabor Tropical. The album received a great reception and great reviews from the press and fans alike. Following the strength and amazing sounds of the first EP, Fort Knox Recordings is proud to present the second EP of remixes from Sabor Tropical.
All of the remixes featured on the second EP represent the new Modern Global sound of music that is making a big impact at the moment. In his first release on Fort Knox Recordings, Zeb the Spy from Cairo delivers a dubbed out, downtempo house remix of Siesta. Siesta then gets flipped in the other direction, as the Empresarios put their own high energy house sound on their Flight 1102 remix. The legend behind Wonderwheel Recordings, Nickodemus, remixes Cumbia into an even more massive, timeless classic.
The Empresarios anthem Pereo Intenso gets a serious reworking from three producers from three different continents. First up is NYC legend DJ Sabo with a huge, funky cumbia remix that gives the tune even more Latin music credentials. Australias breaks don Omegaman slows down the breakbeats and dub the effects in his remix, right in time for summer, rooftops & beaches everywhere.Rounding out this group is Belgiums own Merdan Taplak who brings his signature sound with some funky drumnbass - a real Balkan fiesta!
DJ Sabo is the only producer featured on this project to turn in two amazing remixes. Enlisting the help of Argentine producer Dario Boente, the two have created a salsa masterpiece with heavy bass and an irresistible beat. Straight from Austin, Texas is DJ Manny and his Los Cosmico Bandidos remix of Negrita Linda. They have totally dropped the bottom out and created an unpredictable slab of Latin funk from the future! The tropical bass remix from Kinky Electric Noise showcases his Colombian background mixed with sounds from his home city of Miami, this tune will get the ladies on the dancefloor!
With sounds ranging from cumbia to house, funk, drum n bass, salsa and dub, and some tropical bass thrown in, Sabor Tropical Remixed EP 2 raises the bar once again, showcasing the Empresarios in a new light.
