  • Description Kriss Kortz, also known as Life Recorder, is giving us the EP Positive Changes, the sixth release for the Science Label catalog. This producer and DJ was born in eastern France. Together with Maxx-T he co-founded the label Code 316 Recordings where he has produced some of his work. Also, he has produced with Soleil Recordings, owned by Echoplex, Fountain Music and Snapshot Recordings, among others. Also, Kriss Kortz has done remixes for artists such as Laurent Garnier (in 2005 he won the contest held by the artist for his track Controlling the house). Other remixes include Orlando Voorn for Night Vision label and Tom Pooks for Night Drive Music. His musical influences are clearly noticeable in his productions and he receives the support of artists from the techno scene in Detroit such as Derrick May, Dj Bone and Santiago Salazar and, again, the French icon Laurent Garnier. In Positive Changes we find tracks that offer us a melodic House & Techno, intense and highly emotional. This can be appreciated in tracks such as Ups & Downs, Fresh Breathe or Push Deeper and, at the end, we reach the track named Chaos Harmony, the most experimental in the whole release. A display of breaks, synths, analog claps and drum machines, accompanied by quite a melancholy and a mysterious melody. Scottish producer Ross McMillan, who has signed many works under the name Carlos Nilmmns or Solab (the latter is the project with producer and owner of Seventh Sign Recordings, Graham Wilson), is responsible in particular for remixing the track Ups & Downs for this Positive Changes EP. In this Tangent Remix, we can feel the freshness of Tech-House, with percussions that provide the remix with a great rhythm and elegant subtle voices....
