DescriptionNappy Riddem's debut album, One World Sovereignty, featured a forward thinking mix of funk, soul, reggae and hip-hop when released in November 2011. The tunes found a home in the press, on mixes, dance-floors and radio playlists alike. Nappy Riddem was quickly established. The masterminds behind the project, Rex Riddem and Mustafa Akbar have now called upon some of their favorite producers to deliver a set of five remixes guaranteed to deliver.
Nappy Riddem reached out to their musical mentors Fort Knox Five to remint Devil Needs a Bodyguard into a mid-tempo dance-floor oriented Funk & Soul banger. Hailing from Greece, Basement Freaks have remixed Ease Up into some wicked dancehall vibes sure to get the ladies winding all night long. Australian producer Omegaman explores the groovy atmospheric elements only hinted at in the original version of Shango. German heavyweights Ancient Astronauts deliver a dubby, bass heavy remix guaranteed to ignite sound systems worldwide. Rounding out the batch is San Francisco's highly talented J. Boogie who transforms One World Sovereignty with his signature dub house vibe and a glitchy baseline.
