  • Description As the dust settles following the release of the massive Nyctophobia EP from Epilleptech, we move on to Terra Null's fourth offering which revisits its landmark third release in the "Nyctophobia - The Remixes" EP. Here the label offers two very distinct and unique re-imaginings of what made Nyctophobia so different from the rest, in the form of remixes from two of Drum & Bass' brightest up-and-comers, as well as one of its oldest and most trusted staple artists. The latter being the force known as Gremlinz, who has not only released on some of the biggest labels in Drum & Bass including Samurai and Renegade Hardware (as well as many others), but may also be listed as one of the chief inspirations for the Nyctophia EP itself. Having a hand in its conception, it felt only right to get the legend's take on Epilleptech's "Natural Selection", to which Gremlinz has, in the most appropriate way possible, taken the darkness even farther than anyone could have imagined. The booming sub bass mixed with haunting effects and percussion propel the listener into the deepest darkest regions of the mind. On the flip, Dexta and Mauoq of the Diffrent Records camp offer a stark contrast to Gremlinz' deep and brooding a-side. Here they provide their take on Epilleptech's "Premonition", in which the duo's distinctive style comes through in a delightful reimagining of what rhythms and drum patterns the track is capable of. The unique style and sound of this remix and will keep your ears interested long after the track has come to a close. In all, the Nyctophobia Remix EP represents a great diversity of style and sound, an idea which began in Epilleptech's Terra Null debut. With Nyctophia, The Remixes EP, we see the envelope being pushed even farther, and we more than curious to discover where things will go from here, with up being the only certainty.
