  • Release Date 2013-01-14
  • Labels Bonzai Basiks

  • Description Founder of Kiss My Beat Records and Belgian tech house stalwart Ecco delivers a solid all rounder on Basiks backed up with some quality remixes. Ecco began listening to the New Beat sound at the age of just 14, he was a regular at Belgiums top venues enjoying these sounds. At 20 he took to the decks and also embarked on a studio career. After many successes on labels like Wasabi, Bonzai, Dopplegaenger and Push It, his music is supported by many like Carl Cox, Nic Fancuilli, Roger Sanchez and Wally Lopez to name a few.The original mix of "No Change" is a quite minimal tech vibe with a steady hypnotic groove, tight kicks and percs, deep rooted bass and a meandering female vocal sample makes for a top notch tune.Portuguese producer Scrub joins the remix crew with his take on this quality tune. Scrub aka Joal is a deep experimentalist focusing on the bassy side. This remix shows just that, starting off with a cool house groove that soon blows up into a steady power driven ride, awesome bassline and equally awesome instruments combine very well. Gets a little funky with those superb guitars, a definite must for any DJ box.Next up is the original of "Keep Myself", again we see Ecco on the deep tech tip, real thumping kicks and a highly effective bassline keep this groove going, lots of sample drops add an extra flavour while on the break a tense synth line hooks you in and keeps you wanting more.On the remix for "Keep Myself" we have Alvaro Maretti vs Michel Manzano. Spanish producer Alvaro is no stranger to Basiks after his "Arcadia" release earlier this year. He has a number of releases on labels like Lux23, 2Real, Click On Music and Technical Deejay Records. Michel is also no stranger with his "Droop Live" on Bonzai Progressive with partner Pablo Santana. This remix is a real solid groover, steady beats and an impressive percussion section apply the rhythm well, brilliant sound on the break that builds to kick back to that amazing groove.
