DescriptionOne Records gets ready to unleash the next solid release from raw British talent Jordan Peak. Full of jacking beats and rocking basslines, the Low Ride EP positively smacks of the golden era of House music and more than backs up the hype emerging around the young gun from Portsmouth. Rounding off the package are 2 equally tasty remixes by label heads Subb-an & Adam Shelton and disco house maestro Bonar Bradberry.
A prodigious newcomer to the scene, 2011 looks set to be the making of Jordan Peak. Climbing fast up the production ranks having only released his first record in late 2009 he has already been branded as One To Watch by Dance music legend Pete Tong on his flagship Radio One show and in Mixmags BBC Introducing feature and counts well respected industry heavyweights such as Saved, Tsuba, Robsoul and Raum...Musik as his home labels. With many of the undergrounds leading players supporting his work including Loco Dice, Marco Carola, DJ Sneak, Matthias Tanzmann, 2000 And One, Luciano the future is burning bright for Mr Peak.
Low Rider is an indisputable dancefloor bomb teeming with old school basslines and raw analog charm. Having been brought up on his dads old Chicago House records, the influence is clear but Jordans versatility is what makes him stand out and b-side Friday is a deep and dubby burner with a spaced out quality.
Subb-an & Adam Sheltons remix of Low Rider is all warm pads and deep chords. Sexy and rolling with a hypnotic groove, its another shining example of their seductive production prowess not to mention A & R skills.
Bonar Bradberry slows things down a little with his infectiously funky take on the original. Full of uplifting swing and chugging bass, Bonar plays up the instrumentals and the mix evolves with glorious piano keys and organ notes. With such a rewarding and diverse selection of beats, the Low Ride EP is an essential for any record box.
