DescriptionVancouver native Jeanot Mey adopted the moniker Kermode from the rare white furred subspecies of black bear indigenous to BC. At the age of 19, many might consider this producer to be but a cub but when one counts that in bear years, they will realize that they are dealing with full grown saw toothed beast that growls bass and tears leads with its razor sharp claws. Also known by the NW Coast First Nations as the Spirit Bear, Ker- mode doesnt disembowel with shredded noise but rather takes us on a dreamlike quest. It all started at a Bassnectar show in 2011 and since graduating Harbourside Institue of Technology with an audio engineering degree Kermode has been influenced by such peers as Minnesota, Gladkill, Nit Grit, Stephan Jacobs, CloZee and Perkulat0r.His latest EP Love Anthems is sparked by the epic sense of adventure from embarking on a lifelong musical journey. Inspired by love, strength and opportunity these tracks are powerful, cinematic and charge forward with energy and emotion. Hot sharp hooks and blasting bass coupled with classic club anthem vibes drop it hard but keep it uplifting.Hibernation is not an option.
