Joey Negro And The Sunburst Band - In The Thick Of It Feat. Angela Johnson (Opolopo Remixes)

  • Artists Opolopo, Joey Negro, Joey Negro, The Sunburst Band
  • Release Date 2012-10-22
  • Labels Z Records
  • Catalog ZEDD12172
  • Description The Sunburst Band's lush "In The Thick Of It" has been a big club and radio hit throughout the summer, one that has even won praise from diehard fans of the Brenda Russell original. Now Sweden's Opolopo (hot from his Gregory Porter 1960 What rework) gives the track an 80s boogie/proto house rework. Squelchy stabs and funked up synth bass make this a sure fire winner for both the musos and dancefloors. Yes, there are quite a few boogie influenced house tracks but most of them are based around big samples, where as this contains none. If you prefer things a little less vocal then check the Boogie Body Land Dub, the grooves along without any house clichés. DJ Reactions: Dimitri From Paris - Now, that's what I call music, fantastic remixes Ashley Beedle - A lovely set of mixes from that man Opolopo.
