I Took You In EP

  • Artists Ron Costa, Yooj
  • Release Date 2012-07-30
  • Labels Not Bad
  • Catalog NB001
  • Description After a stunning delivery of his track "Mademoiselle" and an impressive and well received Martin Buttrich remix, Yooj knocked on the door of techno/house music to let everyone know he has officially arrived. This talented producer living in Berlin by way of San Francisco has developed a unique, dark, and grooving sound and his style variations are proving to be limitless. His most recent EP on Monique Speciale (sister label of Monique Musique) was also played out by some of the culture's most prolific DJs. It is easy to claim an artist as 'someone to watch' but if you are not already on the look out for Yooj, don't worry the stars of techno music have already taken notice.

Not Bad is extremely proud to present one of their own for the premiere release of the label. Yooj drops two absolute bombs to set Not Bad in motion. The title track, "I Took You In' is a throbber on the techno side of techno/house. A perfect treat to get the dark dancefloors into the groove ;) This track contains a remix from the currently on fire Ron Costa. Ron interprets the track in an even darker, more minimalistic form with energy just bursting at the seams. A true serious weapon on the floors. The feelings invoked in this remix are truly something unique.

Rounding out the EP, Yooj hits us with "Guerrazzi." This deep and grooving monster retains the ancient vibe of the whole EP. Reminding us all of the roots that dance music came from. The tracks energy is eloquently built, leaving the dancefloor yearning for more until it releases something primal within.

Not Bad couldn't be more pleased with it's initial release and encourages you to follow the label on Beatport and Facebook if you like what you hear. Bombs away !!
