DescriptionAfter the fantastic success of Hot Waves Volume 1, released earlier this year, Jamie Jones & Lee Fosss Hot Waves digital imprint release the second compilation of intergalactic house and restrung disco-tech from some of the hottest burgeoning young producers on the scene.
Hot Waves is the digital imprint wing to its older brother: Hot Creations. Jamie, and Lee have been sourcing new tracks for the album all summer, virtually all of which have become stalwarts in their celebrated sets this Summer. Hot Waves serves as a great introduction to many young producers who after releasing on Hot Waves have gone on to release on Hot Creations and other likeminded labels. The compilation features nineteen new killer tracks, four of which appear in the limited vinyl sampler (HWT002) to accompany the album.As well as the already established producers such as Robert James, Lee Foss, Russ Yallop, M A N I K, and Maxxi Soundsystem, there is a cornucopia of great new talent. Some of these featured new artists include: Scottish/American collective Wildkats, Barcelona based Miquel Puente, Dirty Channels from Italy, French production duos Julien Sandre & Max Chapman and Remi Mazet & Mr Matlar, as well as some great new UK based producers, Jakkin Rabbit, Ashley Wild, Lee Kelsall & Matt Fear, Lee Brinx, Jenkyns vs. Dean Tyler, Marc Vexar and forthcoming Hot Creations artist Cera Alba. Kicking off with the jackin Hip-hop groove of Widkats Perpetrating, Matt Fears Balearic Boogie take on Lee M Kelsalls On The Road, and Jakkin Rabbits dirty house monster Blame the compilation is already off to a flying start. The tempo then drops for vocal led superb slice of Balearic acid After Midnight In Your Bed by Miguel Puente & Mejia. Some other hot tracks on the compilation include the deep sub-sonic House of Ashley Wilds Riding In the Red and Marc Vexars Burlesque, the slamming No Games! by Julien Sandre & Max Chapman and Cera Albas enchanting Runaway, the tripped out beauty of Sean Romans Sarahs Song, the funky as hell Relax Your Hair by Remi Mazet & Mr Matlar, the spooky 80s inspired Carte Blanche, the groovetastic house of Dirty Channels, Lee Brinx and Jenkyns vs Dean Tyler and fantastic closing sun-drenched Open Your Eyes by Maxxi Soundsystem & DRW. Crosstown & Hot Creations Brighton based house hero Russ Yallop delivers a slice of steaming hot pie in the guise of the U Know featuring Taymor. Hot Creations Robert James also supplies another great subsonic house monster Can You Keep It, whilst Ovum & Culprit mainstay M A N I K produces the great House Of Flies. Finally Hot Natureds Lee Foss mesmerising S.A.E. track is a great piece of melancholic disco. Hot Natureds Jamie Jones and Lee Foss unveil some exciting new talent in this collection. Sharing an ethos of funk-infused basslines, disco samples and killer beats and subsonic house, theyve compiled a great compilation epitomising the new underground house sound thats proved so popular this year.
