Give Me Your Hands

  • Artists Estroe, Nikko.Z, Apologist
  • Release Date 2012-10-09
  • Labels Proton Music
  • Catalog PROTON0190
  • Description Under their Apologist production moniker, Italian Duo, Matteo Bruscagin and Sam Perez's "Give Me Your Hands" first came to prominence on the 2011 Proton release, "Voices From Japan". With a string of solo successes for the likes of, Baroque, Armada and Deep Dish's Yoshitoshi, the Apologist guise saw the duo move into a deeper, more techno oriented realm with support from Derek Howell, Eelke Kleijn, and Lank. Now, "Give Me Your Hands" returns to Proton Music with high profile remixes from Estroe and Nikko.Z.

Estroe is no stranger to EDM in her Dutch homeland but her influence extends far beyond the Low Countries, giving here a global presence in a scene she is truly passionate about to the point where she claims, "I get restless when I can't work on my own melodies". With success stretching back over a number of years including remixes for John Digweed's Bedrock and support from Laurent Garnier and Ripperton, coupled with a DJ travel itinerary to be envied, Estroe also runs the "EevoNext" label imprint and monthly Proton Radio show. Her remix of "Give Me Your Hands" is full of the passion she demonstrates for her craft. A collage of straight techno beats and percussive elements provide the basis for a head-shaking groove while melodic riffs and sustained chords hold sway across the top.

With releases dating back to 2007, Hellenic Nikko.Z has had a string of releases on high profile labels since 2010 including Vapour, Stripped, Balkan Connection and most recently, the smash "The Lizard King" on Sonic Union's Lowbit label, remixed by progressive heavyweight Luke Porter. Not content with merely producing music, Nikko is also in the process of setting up his own label, "Dopamine", at Proton in the coming months. His remix of Apologist has a wonderful laid-back, melodic groove, taking elements from the original and weaving them into a new musical fabric with a bouncing bass line that creates something very special.
