Exercise One

  • Artists Peter Van Hoesen, Exercise One
  • Release Date 2011-12-19
  • Labels Exone
  • Catalog EX11
  • Description Exercise One return to their Exone label for the end of 2011 with a low slung slice of electronic indie featuring Zach Van Hoozer of the Zulu Pearls on the title track You Ought To Know. Exercise One and Van Hoozer first met when the Zulu Pearls played with them in Berlin and impressed with their melancholic pop melodies and minimal arrangements, coupled with Zacs distinctive voice and swagger.

Peter Van Hoesen delivers a standout remix, working for the first time with a full vocal arrangement. Peter is a long-term friend of the duo, first recording on their Lan Muzic label when he began producing techno again and having released previously on Exone this year. B side Top Score is a highlight of their recent live shows and is more in the classic energetic Exercise One sound that dancefloors love.

Exercise One have been absorbed this year with many new projects - including the building of a stunning new live set thats recently taken them to the mighty Fuse in Brussels and ADE, releasing on Dumb-Unit,Wagon Repair and Mobilee, and remixing Elon, Matilda, Billy Dalessandro and Dave Vega feat. Seth Troxler.

You Ought To Know has also been made into a beautiful video by Munich based artist Michi Acapulco, also featuring Zach Van Hoozer.
