DescriptionPicotto's production and label partner Riccardo Ferri opens proceedings this time, and he's alongside Rovigo resident Luca Morris. Fresh from remixing Monika Kruse's 'Hope' alongside Paul C, Luca teams up with Riccardo to bring us one of the funkiest, techno bombs of the year. With its killer groove, and almost 'house' feel, the track hypnotizes. With its rolling drums and drama building synths it perfectly showcases the talent that these studio veterans have for reading a dancefloor. Superb!
Next is Alchemy favourite, and Berlin resident Daniele Papini. Having been treading the house path, his remix of Picotto's 'Diamond' alongside Hugo being a fine example, Daniele today drops some sick, powerful techno. Cutting snares and popping bassline open the show, whilst the vocal creeps up on us. A whirlwind of repetitive sounds envelops us, building an industrial soundscape. Powerful!
Athos makes a welcome return to Alchemy with 'Absolute'. Yet another Don of funky techno, the man from Firenze delivers a master-class in melodic, groove-filled dance. Low slung, warm, sexy beats are wrapped in gentle, yet strong bass. This is definitely female friendly, and will have the girls dancing all night long. Fantastic!
To round off the EP we return to Mr Ferri, who this time, ramps it up for us on 'Head Back'. Heavy primal, guttural beats trip us along to its dramatic break, which builds enough energy to shoot us into the stratosphere. This is maximum, big room techno at its best. Hands in the air. Massive!
