  • Description Fresh Meat's 30th release "Colours & Motions" marks the label's welcome return to vinyl and includes a wicked deep house remix by Audio Soul Project. Following-up on "I Want You" and their remix of Shenoda's "Hussle," the talented Stel Vassiloudis, Nils Nuernberg and Florian Kruse return to Fresh Meat as Wiretappeur. Labels like NRK, Knee Deep, Hypnotone, Mood Music, Noir Music, Dessous and Slip N Slide have all enjoyed their fine touch under various pseudonyms and configurations, but the original Wiretappeur material is exclusively on Fresh Meat

The main track "Colours" has a soulfully reduced groove. The chunky beats build tension judiciously, eventually spilling into a melodic winding clarinet breakdown that snaps right back to the sweet modern house groove. Audio Soul Project's remix of "Colours" is a brilliant example of Mazi's compelling deep house style. The remix features a new bass line, new stacked keyboard stabs, strings, an old school drum track and borrowed vocal snippets that play with the clarinet, drum and sub bass from the original.

Wiretappeur's latest rounds out with the moody and bouncing "Motions". This unassuming track is built around filtered synth stabs and trailing warbling bass that is framed by a cutting square drum cadence. The spacious groove takes on new personality and life at the club.

For the digital release Fresh Meat friend Justin Long (.dotbleep) re-edits "Colours" creating a version that is more linear and free form. Justin's edit brings out the tracky groove, transforming "Colours" into a jam reminiscent of 90s workouts from his native city of Chicago.
