Breakaway EP

  • Artists A1 Bassline
  • Release Date 2012-09-24
  • Labels Pets Recordings
  • Catalog PETS023
  • Description http://pets-recordings.com/

Pets Recordings welcome label debutant A1 Bassline and also announce the production of their fourth vinyl release. Having shared the stage as dirtybird label mates its now time for Pets bosses Catz 'n Dogz to welcome an artist who's music has become a staple of their own DJ sets.

Its been a busy few weeks for Christian Sibthorpe aka, A1 Bassline. With the imminent release of the first single from his own SOURCEUNKNWN label and his excellent track "Daft" having just dropped on dirtybird, the young Brighton resident is currently enjoying the richest of musical form, further highlighted by his fantastic 3 track "Breakaway EP."

Christian's musical influences took hold from a very early age. Having spent his teenage years frequenting the vinyl temples of Big Apple, Swag Records and secondhand store Beanos, buying garage, grime and drum and bass, it was another establishment or rather party, that also played a defining role in his musical career. "Technicality" was the forward thinking DnB club night that paid homage to the famous Metalheadz Blu Note parties and it was here, alongside other regulars including Ben UFO, Fold and Breakage that Christian furthered his love of bass driven music.

Having released his debut 12" at the tender age of 17, A1 Bassline has worked on and sought for a sound that he is content with. It was this sound that lead to him signing his music to San Francisco's dirtybird imprint and over the past two years his productions such as "Buoyancy / Falsehood" and "Why Do You" have gained support from a far wider group of Press, DJ's and Radio.

Axel Boman - WOW! Copper is so so good! All of these tracks are killer!

Luke Solomon - Oh YEAH... Copper is right up my street and stuff!

Jimpster - Killer EP! Copper grooves like a bad bwoy but i love Open Your Mind too. Great stuff once again from Pets.

Tobi Neumann - Cool tunes. Open Mind has a sweet atmosphere. I will check them later on the dancefloor. Thanks guys.

Justin Martin - Great great stuff from A1!!!!! Love it all!!

Homework - Breakaway... This is pure sweetest!

Jack Robertson (Thefft) - More heat from A1 Bassline! Unstoppable!! Love it all!

Paolo Rocco - Love the low ends on this ep. Will be jamming out Copper and Open Your Mind for sure!!

Brett Johnson - Copper is pure gold in my book!! Thanks guys, love it!

J.Phlip - A1 Bassline rocks it! Really happy to add this to my arsenal!

Nick Monaco - Breakaway is my kinda tune. I'm loving the deepness and tones you are achieving A1!

Richard Ahmed - (Crosstown Rebels) - Im really into Open Mind on this ep. very Catz n Dogz.

Huxley - Really great ep!! Feeling the new A1 Bassline stuff a LOT! Open Mind works best for me here I think.

Matt - (Darksky) - Fucking dope EP! Will be rinsing Copper!!

SHOW-B - Nice... loving the bass music vibe. Good stuff. Liking Open Mind the most. Cheers for these.

Guy Andrews - (Hemlock) - Mate, stop releasing such good music. You're making us other Brighton artists look bad...

Rich - (Waifs & Strays) - Open Mind is soooo ACE!!! Playing this out!!

Hackman Open Mind is WICKED!!! Will be playing this guys!

Sasse - Simple and effective - love it all!!

Christian Martin - Great EP, but Open Your Mind is the standout!! A slow burning bomb, not too many of those out there.

Amos - (Waifs & Strays) - Breakaway is wicked... cant wait to play this!! Total support.

Riyaz Khan - (CHRY 105.5FM Toronto, Canada) - Super record - especially like the deep, melodic rhythms of Breakaway (title cut)!

Laurent N. - (Nice Radio France) - Another nice release on Pets Recordings. Nice tracks & stuff by A1 Bassline. Will play & FULL SUPPORT !!!

Kristijan Molnar (Christilization Radio Serbia) - A1 Bassline strikes everywhere, good to see that! Cool EP btw, "Breakaway" is great, sexy dance tune! Thanks for sending.

Tom Breu - (Radio WDR 1LIVE Germany) - Breakaway for me all day!

Makossa - (Radio fm4 Vienna) - Good stuff. Im liking Breakaway.

Colin Perkins - (Spin 1038 Dublin) - Open Mind is the BOMB!!

Anticlimax - (Radio Grenouille France) - A1 Bassline is way better doing house music than high powered wobble electro in my opinion.. Love his latest tracks, and this Ep doesn't disappoint, love Breakaway, nice vibe, i'm gonna play it.

Diversions (CHRY Toronto) Super record - especially like the deep, melodic rhythms of Breakaway (title cut)!

Ignacio - (mixside.com) - Breakaway is deep stuff! Copper brings back the most bassy A1 and Open Your Mind is pretty intense exercise of bass music mixed with house.! Nice release!

Bradley - (In The Deep End Australia) - Copper is great but not feeling the other two. His latest stuff on SourceUnknwn was excellent but I think Breakaway and Open Your Mind totally lose the momentum he had going.

Greg Fenton - (Magazine Sixty.com) - Breakaway is a great track!!

Scan Mode - (DJ Magazine Spain) - Cooper is an amazing track!

De:Bug Magazine Germany - Considering for review.

Kev O - (DataTransmission) - Open Mind is a MONSTER!!!

Thilo - (Groove Magazine Germany) - Review in our forthcoming issue.

    Tsugi

Magazine France - Copper for us here love it!

Ante (DJ Magazine Germany) - Big ep! Loving the chord in Breakaway and the dub feeling of Copper!
