Description"Bossa Noir" is the debut full-length album from Brazilian group LuzeCor (translated means "color and light"). The album is a fusion of traditional bossa nova with electronic production that complements the songwriting and lends the album a shimmering and at times haunting aura of magic. There is a heartfelt quality to the songs, and a live feel that evokes visions of intimate jazz clubs. The electronic twist on this theme alternately serves to add a modern edginess (Blues Time), an ethereal sparkle (O Devir), or twinge of otherworldly darkness (Volta).
The Brazilian band LuzeCor (formerly named N.O.V.A) was founded in 2002 as experimental music project by musician Alexsander Goncalves aka Mano and the producer and DJ Adriano Garcia Haveck. The idea behind the project was to mix traditional and electronic music. Live shows including the band's founding members plus other players were ecstatically received, and the LuzeCor sound evolved to blend elements of electronic music, indie rock and Brazilian music of 50's, specifically of Joao Gilberto's Bossa Nova. The first single "Luz e Cor", also part of this album, features guest vocalista Nina Nobrega.
