Amam's grooving output has quickly established the label as a dependable source for the current sound of Italy's house scene, with owner Alessio Mereu always involved with the music's production in some form or another. Until now, that is! Amam Extra is the new sub-label for more melodic sounds from his friends. For its first release, Mereu has invited Milan's Tobia Coffa of Grey Area Recordings for two original tracks, plus two remixes from Timid Boy and Marcus Vector.

With "Back from the Moon", Coffa brings us a souvenir from his lunar vacation, with a plump, juicy bassline melody dusted with spacey synthesizers for a cosmic effect on the dancefloor. Parisian producer Timid Boy (TuningSpork, Time Has Changed, Darkroom Dubs) offers a deeper version that focuses more on rhythmic interplay than the melody of the original.

"Sweet" offers a more soulful sound, with relaxed melodies from Detroit laid over but pumping old-school Chicago percussion. Belgium's Marcus Vector (Contexterrior, Toys For Boys) takes the sweetness of the original into more unfamiliar territories, twisting the romance into moody hypnotic house.
